Your First Screener

In this guide, you'll create your first stock screener using Vaanam's powerful screening capabilities. Screeners allow you to filter stocks based on various technical indicators and custom criteria.

Access the Screener Builder​

The Screener feature is available under the Screeners section in the top menu. Clicking it will take you to the Screener workspace.

Screener-Form has 6 components:

Screener Form

  • Screener Name - Name of the screener you want to create
  • Description (Optional) - Describe the screener
  • Index/Basket - Choose what index or your own basket you want to scan
  • Time Frame - Select the time frame you want to scan for opportunities
  • AI Query Assistant - Define your search in natural language, clicking generate will create the system query for you
  • Query - Write your own query using our DSL (Domain Specific Language) instead of using AI Assistant

In this example, we scan the S&P 500 index for stocks that closed below the lower Bollinger Band on the daily timeframe. The natural language I used was close is less than lower bollinger band, Click Generate, and the Query box will be automatically filled with:

ASSET_STOCK_CLOSE < ASSET_STOCK_TECH_BBANDS_20_2_LOWER

Create &amp; Run Screener

Clicking on Create & Run Screener will take you directly to the Results.

Screener Results

From here, you can analyze the results, export them to CSV, or set up alerts for future signals.
