Stock Baskets
Create custom collections of stocks for organized tracking and backtesting.
What are Stock Baskets?
Stock baskets let you group stocks into custom collections for:
- Backtesting — Test strategies on specific stock groups
- Screening — Run screeners on custom watchlists
- Organization — Track stocks by sector, strategy, or theme
Creating a Basket
- Navigate to Baskets page
- Click Create New Basket
- Enter basket name (required, cannot be edited later)
- Add optional description (cannot be edited later)
- Search and add stocks by ticker or company name
- Save basket
Adding Stocks
Search Method:
- Type ticker symbol (e.g., TSLA) or company name (e.g., Tesla)
- Select from dropdown suggestions
- Use arrow keys to navigate, Enter to select
Paste Method:
- Paste multiple tickers separated by spaces or commas
- Valid tickers appear as gray pills
- Invalid tickers appear as red pills (not saved)
Stock Pills:
- Gray — Valid ticker, will be saved
- Red — Invalid ticker, will be ignored
- Click X to remove any stock
Managing Baskets
View Basket
Click View to see:
- Basket name and description
- Complete list of stocks
- Last updated timestamp
- Stock count
Edit Basket
Click Edit to modify stocks:
- Add new stocks
- Remove existing stocks
- Name and description are locked after creation
Delete Basket
Click Delete to permanently remove basket and all its stocks.
Using Baskets
In Backtests
When creating a backtest:
- Select Custom Basket from Index dropdown
- Choose your basket from the list
- Run backtest on those stocks only
In Screeners
When creating a screener:
- Select Custom Basket from Index dropdown
- Choose your basket from the list
- Screen only those stocks
NAV Chart
Each basket has a NAV (Net Asset Value) chart that tracks the basket's performance over time as if you'd bought all stocks equally at a starting value of $10,000.
- Toggle between viewing individual tickers and the NAV chart on the basket detail page
- Select different time periods to analyze performance
- Useful for comparing your custom basket's returns against an index
Basket Limits
Basket limits vary by plan:

Organize by Theme
Create baskets for different strategies:
- High-growth tech stocks
- Dividend aristocrats
- Small-cap value plays
- Sector-specific holdings
Keep Baskets Focused
Smaller, focused baskets are easier to:
- Analyze and understand
- Backtest efficiently
- Monitor for opportunities
Update Regularly
Review and update baskets:
- Remove underperformers
- Add new opportunities
- Adjust to market conditions

Troubleshooting
Cannot Edit Name
Basket names are locked after creation to maintain data integrity. Create a new basket if you need a different name.
Stock Not Found
If a ticker shows as red:
- Verify correct ticker symbol
- Check if stock is supported (US markets only)
- Ensure stock is actively traded
Basket Limit Reached
Upgrade your plan to create more baskets or increase stocks per basket.
